The Top Gun Laparoscopic Skills Shoot-Out is an event that
combines fun, excitement and entertainment along with competition,
perseverance and SWEAT! The concept that Dr.
Rosser originated at the Yale University School of Medicine is
designed to provide the ultimate arena for the residents and
trained surgeons from all specialties to develop and demonstrate
their laparoscopic skill development while promoting
friendly competition. The series of drills are validated with the
acquisition of a clinically related task (intracorporeal suturing).
A database of thousands of surgeons has been collected that
enables the objective comparison of participants with their
peers. Top Gun has been featured at the American College
of Surgeons since 1996 and is now part of the AUA, AIMIS
(American Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery) SLS and
SAGES as well. Come by the booth and see if you have the
right stuff and discover if you are one of the "greatest MIS surgeons
of all times or a legend in your own mind".
