About This Site
THE FIRST EDITION
This site contains open access text and illustrations of the 1st edition of Prevention & Management of Laparoendoscopic Surgical Complications. Originally published in 1999, it was a sellout and has been translated into Portuguese and Chinese, thus impacting surgical management of patients around the world. In addition to this site, the complete text is also downloadable to PDAs and Cell Phones via RSS feed.
NEW - Spanish translation link Joint Project of SLS and ALACE
The NEW, completely updated and extended 2nd edition is far more comprehensive than the first,
with more than two times the number of pages, an increase from 3 to 6
editors, 31 to 57 chapters, and 41 to over 100 authors. In addition to
surgical techniques, the second edition provides a broader focus on
issues pertaining to laparoendoscopic surgery, such as telerobotic
surgery, use of simulators in training, and a comprehensive look at
credentialing past, present, and future.
